How To Maintain Window Wipers On Your Car

There are a lot of little parts on your car that you will take for granted until they stop working, and the window wipers of your vehicle are one of them. They are always there for you during times of rain or snow, keeping your windows clean and making sure that you can see everything. However, when the wipers snap off or otherwise get damaged, they won’t be doing their job properly and you need to make sure to get them fixed.

Having proper windshield wipers on your car is going to not only help keep you safe, but it will also ensure that your vehicle looks amazing! If you have a vehicle like a Corvette, then you will really want to make sure that every part of your car is 100% in tip top shape!

Only Use Your Window Wipers On Wet Windows

While you might decide that you want to use your window wipers in order to wipe off some bird poop or some other debris that wound up on your window, you should really only use your window wipers whenever your windows are wet. Running a window wiper on a dry windshield can cause damage to both the wipers as well as the windshield itself because the windshield can get scratched.

If you have a scratched windshield, not only can driving be a nightmare, but also the only way to get it repaired is to fully replace the windshield. So make sure to either use your window wipers on your wet windshield during rain or snow, or spray a generous amount of water onto the windshield before you run your wipers.

Clean And Tighten Your Wipers

Whenever you clean or deep clean your Corvette, you need to make sure that you are cleaning your wiper blades as well, because they can get very dusty and can even start to make noise. So make sure to wipe down the blades with a mixture of water and dishwashing detergent every time you wash your car, because the wipers need to be clean in order to clean your windows!

Additionally, take a good look at the arms of the windshield wipers as well, because they need to be tightened as much as possible. If the arm is loose, then the wiper isn’t going to run smoothly over the windshield and the performance is going to suffer. So make sure to arm yourself with a screwdriver and tighten the wiper arm back to where it needs to be.

Focus On The Smaller Bits Of Your Car

Don’t be afraid to take the time to focus on the smaller bits of your car, because it is these bits that are going to be the ones that keep your vehicle running. The wipers, the door handles, and the C6 Engine Bay Accessories like the Polished - Stainless Steel, Front Nose Cap, the Polished - Stainless Steel, Radiator Cover, and the Polished - Stainless Steel, Wiper Cowl Cover are all going to need to be cared for.
