How To Take Your Corvette Endurance Racing

If you have seen all the awesome action that comes with Corvette endurance racing and want to take your own Corvette out to the track and see what your vehicle can do, you actually can! Many people and organization host their own races, where you can get a taste of what the televised endurance racing is like. However, whenever you get that need for speed, you need to know a few things, both about the type of racing you are doing as well as how you need to prepare your car for it.

What Is An Endurance Race?

A Corvette endurance race is different than various other races that you might find and think about whenever you think of racing. Rather than various drivers attempting to jockey for position and trying to hit 1st place, they are instead focused on testing the durability and endurance of the cars and themselves.

In a traditional endurance race, teams of several drivers attempt to either drive the longest distance compared to the other drivers, or cover a large distance/number of laps over the fastest amount of time.

While all endurance races have different sets of rules, most races tend to have the teams of 2 to 4 drivers running for 1,000 kilometers for about six hours, though other races can go for 1,000 miles, or can run for 12 and 24 hours.

There’s even a triple crown that combines the three most challenging races in one large event, the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, and 24 Hours of Le Mans, where teams take on each event one after the other and attempt to win all three races.

How Do You Prepare For An Endurance Race?

If you want to take on a Corvette endurance race and have found an event that hosts one, you need to make sure that your Corvette is a stock Corvette that is designed to last longer. You need a car that can run all day without breaking, and a car that is going to be able to withstand and handle the long hours on the road.

While you can bring a modified Corvette to a race, you should know that the more parts you add to a Corvette, the more risk you run of one of those parts breaking down. A simple stock Corvette is going to be enough to outlast your competitors. You will also need a helmet as well, especially one that fits and is comfortable to wear.

Finally, make sure that your brakes and brake hoses are perfect, and make sure to inspect your tires and make sure they are in the best shape that they can be.

Additionally, if you want to make your Corvette look good, don’t be afraid to invest in some C7 Engine Bay Accesories like the C7 Grand Sport Fluid Cap Cover Set, the Vacuum Pump Actuator with Cap, and the Manual Master Cylinder Cover with Top Plate in Stingray Style.
